Are you on the CZU campus? If so, join the ICA BioBlitz Challenge 2023 and help us count the species of plants and wild animals at our university. It's easy!
BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area. Right now you have a unique opportunity to support CZU and participate in a similar challenge organised by the international university association ICA. 17 of ICA universities have enthusiastically agreed to participate in this challenge between 22 May (International Day on Biodiversity) and 30 June. For these six weeks, staff, students as well as general public will be counting species on their university grounds.
How to join the challenge?
1.) download one of the observing apps on your mobile: Apps - Waarneming.nl
2.) take pictures of plants and wild animals within the CZU campus (note: the challenge is not focused on cultivated flowers/bushes or pets)
3.) the app will identify the species you have photographed
4.) your observations will automatically be added to the overall score and will contribute to biodiversity research at our university
When will the challenge take place?
22 May - 30 June 2023
