Biodiversity Challenge 2026 is a joint initiative taking place not only at our university, but also at 15 other European universities united within ICA – the network connecting life science universities across Europe. This challenge demonstrates that every university can become a living laboratory of sustainability.
Nature is not just “out there” — it is present in the parks, gardens, and green corners of our campuses. And this is exactly where we can start together.

Biodiversity is the foundation of a healthy environment
The diversity of plants and animals strengthens the resilience of ecosystems and enhances the quality of life for all of us. University campuses can be places where nature meets modern education and where inspiring examples of responsible environmental care emerge.
Everyone can contribute
Biodiversity Challenge 2026 is open to students, academics, and staff. Expertise is not required — curiosity is enough. Whether you can identify dozens of species or simply enjoy noticing a single flower by the pathway, you are welcome.

Protecting and developing nature on university grounds
